No guilt, be happy

I was just writing a comment in a private group on FB. It’s a whole bunch of women talking about dating dilemmas, strategies, the good, the bad, and the ugly lol.

I think I’ve been through every dating scenario possible and I am finally, at age 48, beginning to figure it out. Well, hopefully lol.

I came to the conclusion that you have to throw yourself out there and try everything. Start by asking yourself, what is it that you are looking for? Another few things you have to think about are, is the timing right to get back into the dating scene? Do you still think about your ex? Lastly, and most importantly, are you happy with yourself at this present moment?

I found that unless I have myself together and that the rest of my life was fine tuned, I couldn’t date. Are you happy in your current state of life? That is so important. If something is off-key, then how could you possible date or go into a relationship with an open mind?

Right now I have never been happier with my current dating situation. If it works for you, go for it.

Have a great Saturday everyone!

My front porch

This is minimalism at its best. All this took took was a fresh coat of paint and a garage sale find for $80 bucks.

Sitting on a porch is the best therapy a person can get.

Life can be simple if you truly want it to be. Less is definitely more.

My Pinterest bedroom

Yup. I finally followed through on some design ideas I saw on Pinterest. ”This is one half of my bedroom and I must say I’m quite impressed with myself. No I’m not a narcissist lol.

Comforter set: Homegoods, $60 bucks

Headboard: Wayfair, $107 bucks

Wall prints(made from fabric: Goodwill $4 bucks for ALL!

Curtains: $7 a panel, Boscovs.

I’m sooo happy!!!

I did it over the course of 3 paychecks but I still made it happen and so can you.

My theory is that you can’t deplete yourself doing it or it’s no fun. There are so many ways to be smart about decorating.

Good luck!!!

Stop fearing and live your life

If you want to eliminate fear out of your life, the simplest way to do so is talk to a kid.  Kids have no fear to a degree and I guess that’s what gets them in trouble at times. But think of this, what do you have the greatest memories from and you more intense moments? Your childhood right? Think of all the careless, carefree things you did without hesitation when you were young? What kind of feelings did it give you then and what feeling does it give you now just thinking about it?

My kids do just that for me.  Not only do they bring me back in time, but they say to me, mom stop worrying just do it. So little by little I am.  Yesterday though I missed an opportunity of a life time.  I had the chance to go with both my sons(13 and 14) on a flight lesson over Piseco Lake in NY. Why? Because I was afraid.  That fear slighted me of something so amazing. How stupid can I be???

I guess I can’t beat myself up too much. Baby steps right? I fly high on the swings with them, I race on bicycles with them, we play manhunt at night, and we tell spooky stories by the fire.  I’m getting those feelings back and I feel like I’m starting life all over again. What a feeling!!!

Swing high on that swing my friends. Go for that rush you once had when you were younger.  You never know if you’ll get that opportunity again.
