Friendly Bake Shop, Frankfort, NY

Now and then I post about places that I frequent. This one is one of my absolute all time favorites. I have been going to this bakery since 1992 and has been in the family for over 50 years. This place has created so many great memories for me just because of having their baked goods over the years. Places like this you can’t duplicate, especially in today’s times.

This is a little bakery called Friendly Bake Shop and is nestled in the heart of the Village of Frankfort located in upstate New York’s Mohawk Valley. This is their 4th generation of spreading love through their baked goods.

They truly show their love for what they do through their products. The recipes haven’t changed one bit. No preservatives or additives, just pure homemade awesome tasting donuts and bread.

The donuts literally melt in your mouth and the bread is indescribable. All you need is a pat of butter on a slice of that wholesome goodness and you are in heaven.

If you are ever driving this way through the Mohawk Valley, this place is definitely worth trying. You won’t regret it.

You got this.

Hey, you got this. Whatever you are going through right now, you will be okay. Probably even better than okay. It’s meant for everyone to go through this roller coaster of a life. If everything came easy, there would be no challenges. If there are no challenges, how could we possibly improve ourself?

Keep moving forward and don’t look back. Rearview mirrors are only reminders of what is left to be desired, what is meant to teach us, and to never forget that there were once good times.

No Effort Needed (1 minute read)

If you think about it, what does it really take to get you grounded and clear your mind? Self-care is responsible for a lot of things in your life. If you don’t take care of you first, how can you function properly? Even if it’s for 10 minutes, that’s 10 minutes less of enduring chaos in your life.

If you’re home, go to that favorite spot. Left-side of the couch, right-side of the couch, in your bed, or that favorite comfy chair. Play a game on your phone, yes on your phone. Don’t interact with anyone just scroll through Pinterest, play WordChums, watch funny videos. Color, read a chapter in your book or journal your thoughts for those 10 minutes. Do whatever it takes for those 10 minutes to get you right. Do not feel guilty, it’s only 10 minutes. You are special and important. This is your daily reminder to not forget it.

Easy mini cheese cake and pumpkin pies

These were so easy to make and everyone loved how they tasted! I have two little guys ages 8 and 9, I’m in school full-time working on my associates in Human Services, and I work from home and substitute teach at the elementary school! I really have no time for fussing around with timely recipes so things like this work perfect into my schedule!

For the mini cheese cake pies:

Jello brand boxed cheese cake mix(follow instructions)

Pillsbury premade pie crust(2 come in a package in the dairy section of your grocery store)

Roll out and use flour for a light dusting so it won’t stick to the cutting bored

Use a round biscuit cutter to make circles to fit for a mini muffin pan.

Grease the mini muffin pan with butter flavor cooking spray. Line muffin pans with the pastry cutouts. Remove from oven when done and let cool.

Mean while when your baking the mini pie crusts, prepare your cheese cake filling. Pour in pie crust and chill.

You can top with a fruit dressing, caramel or chocolate syrup.

Mini pumpkin pies

I like to use Libby’s  pumpkin pie mix rather than the pure pumpkin. I like the taste better and it’s actually less work.

Follow instructions for pie mix and pour into mini pie shells before cooking them. I also like to top the pumpkin pies with nuts.

These were quick and easy deserts that had a nice presentation as well!
