Just a ride

One year ago I had no idea how much my life could change and finally for the better. It got simpler and I became happier.

It doesn’t cost anything to be happy. People fail to recognize that there is so much out there in life that you can create happiness from.

Right now, I’m sitting in bed blogging, waiting for my honey to get up and then we will probably go for a ride with his friends. Yesterday we did the same. The views are spectacular from a bike ride. Seriously, I feel like I hit lotto because I met him and how it not only changed but saved my life.

I’m not saying my life is perfect, by all means no way. August 26th I start my college courses(5 to be exact)and I am starting to hyperventilate when I think about it. I’m 43-years-old, taking 5 classes this fall to finish my associates in Human Services and I am starting to panic. I just feel like it’s going to be too much. I usually take 4 but I need to get it over and done with this time.

Hey I was going through my reader section and I notice so many bloggers out there that I’ve started following like a year ago, don’t post anymore. I go through the same slump but I miss reading the great posts they make. What a shame.

Just another day

Yes it is just another day, but at least I have another day to be thankful for. I wake up thinking of the little menial things that shouldn’t be worried over and bring it all into perspective when I hear about other people’s problems. Then my problems aren’t really problems at all. Well I guess to me they are but nothing that is life changing or damaging.

We are heading to pick up a couple of cars that Mike won at auction. I love these trips no matter how far they are. It gives me time to think and enjoy his company. I think today we are heading to Syracuse which is only about an hour from here but tomorrow I think we are going to Newburgh. That is about a 3 hour ride.

My boys are with their dad on Long Island and I miss them dearly. I texted them this morning and they were both playing Mine Craft on their phones so they are somewhat distracted from texting me back waaah. Okay mom deal with it lol. They will be back though on Sunday. Seems like forever! But I’m looking forward to the weekend because we are probably hopefully going riding if the weather is nice. Yay! Motorcycle riding not horseback riding that is. But I’d do either if I have the latter choice.

So close but feels like a different state

I’m helping out a friend of mine in a neighboring town who needed someone to cover his store for the week so I said sure why not. I always like a change of scenery but not on a permanent basis. It’s a quaint little city with a lot of different personalities. There are mom and pop stores that are trying to make a go of their business but like everyone else it is a struggle. I hate seeing people struggle.

Tonight my friend is having a wine tasting event in hopes of bringing in new customers. The whole city itself is trying to turn things around and I hope it does.

It seems like the city(in some parts)is flourishing but in other parts it is like the last of a dying breed. It saddens me.

The florist next door is playing classical music outside, the streets are lined with beautiful flowers, and the canal is sparkling with boats passing by. The bakery adjacent to the florist has such an aroma coming from it that it’s making my mouth water.

I guess my point of this blog is give the small guys a shot. Buy local and save the dying breed.

Breakthrough

It’s 7:32 a.m. Friday and I’m sitting in my bed thinking of what my day will bring me and trying to decide what to do next. I just read through a slew of life blogs and I gotta say there are so many posts that I can relate to. Moving forward, forgetting the past, enjoying the moment, loving the life I have now, are all of the same thoughts that run through my mind everyday. I just need to follow through and act on some of those thoughts. Sometimes I think I have a major chemical imbalance that permits me to do so. As of late, I don’t feel like I make the most of my life which leads me to believe that since I’ve stumbled upon and signed up with WordPress it has been my serendipity. My eyes are open, the weight I feel that is lying on my chest, in my heart, and holding me down is starting now lifted. It’s all in the way you think. Positive attitude and positive thoughts = positive changes. Goodbye excuses and fictitious chemical imbalance, hello perseverance.
